From the Heart Felted Bowls are a heartfelt gift any time of the year, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Weddings and Christmas! These quick to knit and felt gift bowls are featured in three sizes. Decorative options include a knit ruffle edge that is quick and easy. The “I Love Yarn Bowl” provides lovely storage. Hearts aplenty!

The Ruffled Heart Bowl requires 200 yards of Shepherd’s Wool. Felted measurements are 2″ high x 6″ wide x 6.5″ long (ruffle is 1.25″ wide).

The Crochet Chain Edge Heart Bowl requires 80 yards of Shepherd’s Wool in a main color and 32 yards in a contrast color (the bowl is knit; the edge is crochet). Felted measurements are 2″ high x 6″ wide x 6.5″ long (ruffle is 1.25″ wide).

The Mini Ruffled Bowl requires 150 yards of Shepherd’s Wool and 30-100 yards of thread-based metallic carry along yarn, depending on how much you wish to incorporate into the bowl or ruffle. Felted measurements are 1.5″ high x 6″ wide x 4.5″ long (ruffle is 1″ wide).

The Large Heart Yarn Bowl requires 450 yards of Shepherd’s Wool (knit double). Felted measurements are 3.75″ high x 10″ long and wide.

Suggested needles for the smaller bowls are US 13 (9mm) 16″ Circular Needles and for the larger bowls, US 13 (9mm) 24-29″ Circular Needles. You will need a US 13 (9mm) Double Point Needle for working I-cord bind-off, a K-10.5 (6.5mm) Crochet Hook, 8 Locking Stitch Markers, 2 food bag clips and a Tapestry Needle. Optional: 3-6mm glass beads, invisible nylon thread and a sharp sewing needle for attaching beads.

Felting supplies include a zippered mesh laundry bag or zippered pillow protector, laundry soap and a washing machine.
