Carol Bristol Windham Tote Pattern
Multiple design choices allow you to create your own unique carry-all tote! Knit and felt the sturdy Windham Tote with a double strand of Worsted Weight Feltable Yarn such as Shepherd’s Wool. Add the optional crochet chain accents to the pocket and pocket flaps. Finished size is approximately 13″ tall x 14-15″ long x 7″ deep.
The purple Windham Tote is created with 880 yards main color yarn (MC) and 800 yards darker constrast color (CC) Worsted Weight Feltable Yarn. The grey Windham Tote is created with 1050 yards MC and 600 yards CC Worsted Weight Feltable Yarn. Suggested needles are US 13 (9mm) 29-36″ Circular Needles and US 13 (9mm) Double Point Needles for working the optional I-cord bind off. You will need a Size K-10.5 (6.5mm) Crochet Hook. You will also need a Tapesty Needle, 8 Locking Stitch Markers, 2 food bag clips, matching embroidery floss or quilter’s thread to sew Buttons, handles and closures, 1/8″ PVC sheet or flexible kitchen cutting board to line interior base, two 20-25″ Straps, 2 flap Buttons, 1-3 Magnetic Snaps or sew-in Velcro tabs, four 1″ Buttons to secure side pleat in the interior, and four .5″ silver flat Buttons to sew on felted tote. Optional are 4 Purse Feet and 2 decorative Buttons for front and back pocket flaps.
Felting supplies include a zippered mesh laundry bag or zippered pillow protector, laundry soap, and a washing machine.
