These hats are the essential collection, and you will make them again and again, year after year, for yourself and for your friends.

The hats will fit adult heads 20″-22″. These hat patterns require intermediate crochet skills. Hats in the collection include:

Downtown Cloche (pictured middle): This cozy cloche delivers downtown-girl sophistication with a classic flair. Work it up in one color or two and get creative with the ribbon band to create a custom look. The single color hat, as pictured, is created with 1 skein of Fiesta Kokopelli. The 2-color hat, as pictured, was created with 1 skein each of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky, Fisherman 99 and Black 153. You can use 125 yards of any Bulky Weight Yarn. You will need a J Crochet Hook (or size to obtain gauge), a Tapestry Needle, 1 yard of coordinating ribbon, a coordinating brooch or buckle, sewing needle and coordinating thread. The instructions present alternatives for a felted or a non-felted brim. The felted brim version is created with 1 ball of Patons Classic Merino. You can use 170 yards of Feltable Worsted Weight Yarn. The non-felted brim hat is created with 2 balls of Berroco Suede. You can use 170 yards of Worsted Weight Yarn. You will also need I and H Crochet Hooks (or sizes required to obtain gauge), a C Crochet Hook (or size required for gauge) for non-felted brim version only, and a Tapestry Needle. Gatsby Cloche (pictured far left): Simple and pretty, strategically-placed bullion stitches give this hat a delicate touch. Perfect for a breezy summer day or a jazzy winter night.
