Stitch Diva More Decidedly Different Scarves Pattern

Original price was: $7.00.Current price is: $3.50.

This collection of scarves presents an even better-than-the-original sequel to Stitch Diva’s popular first collection. Like the first Decidedly Different Scarves collection, these scarves are engineered for visual impact, adding uncommon flair to any wardrobe.

Included are designs for three scarves: one in hairpin lace, one in knit and one in Tunisian crochet. Each scarf employs simple techniques “with a twist” — each twist an easy variation on the standard way of working. The results are striking scarves that teach some snappy little tricks. You will not only look smart, but you will work smart too!

Falling Layers (Tunisian Crochet – pictured left): Worked on a large hook in 3-color Tunisian, this scarf is the ultimate stash buster and a great way to combine small amounts of 3 different yarns. It also showcases some fun tricks like short-rowing and stitch re-sequencing. It is created in a series of layers worked in a “join-as-you-go” fashion, resulting in a lush, multi-layer scarf. Create this design with 20 yards of Bulky Weight or finer yarn (as featured, the design was created with 20 yards of Fiesta La Boheme in Poppies), 20 yards of a different Bulky Weight or finer yarn (as featured, 20 yards of Tilli Tomas Disco Lights in Ruby Wine), and 40 yards of Sport Weight Yarn (as featured, 40 yards of Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca Silk in Black). You will need a Q Tunisian Crochet Hook, 2 lengths of waste yarn, and a Tapestry Needle.

Nudibranch Ruff (Hairpin Lace – pictured middle): This delicate multi-layer ruffle is created by joining 2 strips together upon themselves in an oblong shape. The edges of this flattened round are then edged with single crochet stitches and a splattering of beads and picots for a delicate and ethereal neck ruffle. Create this design with 225 yards total of Fingering Weight Mohair — 200 yards for the main color and 25 yards for the contrasting color (as featured, the design was created with 200 yards of Rowan Kidsilk Haze color 589 and 25 yards of color 605. You will need 76 Size 6 Pearlescent Seed Beads, a C Crochet Hook and a Size 11 (1.1 mm) Steel Crochet Hook.

Moulin Rouge (Knit – pictured right): This dramatic scarf is worked lengthwise and uses dimensional tuck-stitch stripes, ruching, and a feather boa for a dramatically different impact. Ruching is an old sewing technique whereby a thread is sewn through the fabric in a running stitch and then pulled to gather the fabric. This hollow tube scarf is lightly and irregularly ruched in order to provide dimension and interest. Create this design with 170 yards of Fingering Weight Yarn (as featured, the design was created with 1 skein Kiogu KPM in color 1014), 225 yards each of 2 strands of stainless steel yarn held together (as featured, the design was created with 2 cones of Habu Textiles Silk-Wrapped Stainless Steel in color Shimmering Black). You will also need waste yarn for provisional cast on, a black feather boa, 192 Size 6 Mirror Grey Seed Beads, US 9 (5.5 mm) Knitting Needles, and a third needle that is US 9 or smaller.

Skill level is intermediate.
